Using Geftable
Last changed: October 29, 2026
These are the terms between you and Created by Ty, LLC, which runs Geftable. Using Geftable means you agree to them.
Your account
You need to be 16 or older. Your account is yours alone: sign in with an email address only you read. An account can own one list at a time, and a list you've archived doesn't count. Addresses that reach the same inbox share that limit. While Geftable is in its private beta, starting a list takes a place from the waiting list, which an account that owned a list when this began already has. You can be on as many lists as people add you to, and organize as many as their owners ask you to.
The people you add
Add only people you know, who'd expect to hear from you. When you add someone with an email address, we send them an invitation with your name on it. When you bring in a list from a file, nobody is sent one until you send the invites. Don't add someone who has asked not to be included. Add a child by name only, without an email.
Email from us
With an account, you agree that we can email you about the lists you're on: when names are drawn, when who you give to changes, and to remind you as a gift day gets near. Each of those emails has a link that stops them, and so do your Account page and each list's Settings.
We also send what an account needs: a sign-in link when you ask for one, an email ahead of a change to these terms that takes something away or costs you money, and one last email if you delete your account. We don't send advertising.
What's yours
The names, lists and pairings you put in are yours. You let us store them and show them to the people on your list, which is what running the list takes, and, when something goes wrong, show them to a representative for Geftable who fixes it. We don't use them for anything else. Privacy at Geftable says the rest.
The draw
A draw is random inside your list's rules: nobody draws themselves, partners don't draw each other when you've set couples, people you've asked us to keep apart don't draw each other, and recent pairings aren't repeated while a draw without them exists. A small list can run out of new pairings, and then the oldest come back. We don't promise a draw anyone in particular will like.
What you can't do
Break into a list you're not on. Use invitations to send people anything but an invitation. Run scripts against the site. Use Geftable to harass someone. We can suspend an account that does, and we'll say why.
Paying
Geftable is free today. If we sell a paid plan, it will let an account own more than one list, and its price is shown before you buy.
A paid plan renews each year on the day you bought it, at the price then, until you cancel. We email you before it renews. Cancel on your Account page at any time, and you keep the plan until the year you paid for ends. Within 14 days of first paying you can have all of it back.
When a plan ends, the lists beyond your first become read-only: nothing is deleted, and they open again if you come back. If the price changes, we tell you at least 30 days before your next renewal.
Leaving
Delete a list you own whenever you like. Delete your account from your Account page, which asks first what becomes of each list you own. If we ever shut Geftable down, we'll give you at least 60 days' notice and a way to take your lists with you.
When something goes wrong
We work to keep Geftable running and your lists safe, and we fix what breaks. We can't promise it will never be down or never lose something. Where the law lets us, what we owe you is limited to what you paid us in the last 12 months. Nothing here takes away a right the law of your home gives you as a consumer, and nothing limits what we owe for harm we cause on purpose or through serious carelessness.
Which law
Utah's, in the United States. If you live somewhere whose law gives consumers protections that can't be signed away, you keep them, and you can bring a claim at home. There's no arbitration clause and no waiver of group claims.
Changes
Geftable changes as we build it. When it gains something, these terms and the privacy page are brought up to date the same day, and the date at the top of each changes. What's new lists the changes you'd notice in Geftable, and every change to the terms and the privacy page, with its day.
When a change takes away something these terms give you, or costs you money, we email everyone with an account at least 30 days before. If you don't agree, you can delete your account before then.
